Memories 12

Sad as that was we won't dwell on it and let me cast my mind back to my youth once more, Oii! never mind the "oh no" that man at the back!!,hmmmph that's better, one thing I and we haven't mentioned is music, it has been with myself all my life as with most of us but some are attracted to it more than others, I play guitar fairly well and Irish whistle too and just lately I have purchased a fairly low budget violin to "have a go with" hahaha so if you pass my door the howling isn't next doors cat meeting its maker its me practicing. Everyone will agree that sometimes you say eee I havn't heard that in years and so if my HTML and web building skills are up to it everytime I mention a song I will try and make it available through simple links to hear it.

So without further ado I have to say the very first record I can recall hearing and sticking in my head which is true today was Waterloo Sunset by the kinks lets see if my talents are up to it hahaha. My gosh i've amazed myself, it works!!!!, now down to business. The next piece of music that comes to mind immediately was a number 9 hit from 1967 and it was Kites by Simon Dupree and the big sound and to me it is one of the most haunting pieces from the sixties. If at any time you think of something that I havn't then me emails on here let me know and Ill include it and give you a mention.

We could be here forever rolling throught the thousands of songs that have affected our lives and I remember sitting at the top of the stairs (there was no sockets in the bedrooms) listening to Albatross on an old and battered mono record player, oh I'm getting well into this now I thnk the scroll button will be necessary on this page. Right through my formative days, ooo aren't I posh, I was surrounded by the Beatles, Manfred Man, Beach Boys, you name it they are all there, Im not that much of a Beatles fan, sorry guys, but one song zaps me every time it is this one, you didnt expect that suprise did you, go on hit it see what it is.
A definite one for this page is a song from a very early band with mixed reputations but like Simon Dupree and Kites this song has the same haunting attributes as that one and im not ashamed to introduce The Doors and Rider on the Storm if you dont know it please give it a listen. I'm going to leave this page for now and so every time I conjure up a song to remember i'll put it or them in as we go along, see you on
Memories 13!
No sooner said than done
Just thought of another one so here we go rocketing back to more modern times and I come to 1992 with the magical hit of Tasmin Archer Sleeping Satellite I think you will find I always go for the "haunting" songs, hope you enjoy it and while you are listening to it I'll go racing back down the years to another one I just thought of it is Johnny Remember Me by Johnny Leyton backed by The Outlaws in 1961, Oi!! you at the back, less of the old fart if you dont mind, go on be brave give it a listen.
Going back to my days as a biker with long hair and greasy clothes I was mad keen on a Lunatic band Jethro Tull, there greatest album in my mind was Living in the Past Im going to zap you with two tracks from that album, Sweet Dream and Living in the Past
